Help My Pup - About Us...
Help My Pup Dog Training was established in 2004. Running puppy, obedience, 1-2-1, fun and Good Citizen Dog Scheme Classes in the Warrington area.
The club is owned by Rachel Ward who did her BFA Judging Certificate in 2005, Rachel feels that positive reward training is the only way to teach a dog quickly and correctly. ***HELP MY PUP IS CURRENTLY THE ONLY KENNEL CLUB REGISTERED CLUB IN CENTRAL WARRINGTON***
Kennel Club Listed Status means we can host the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation and Good Citizen Dog Schemes, it also means we have to comply with strict rules as a club including full insurance, first aid training, provide recommendations and assessments from KC Judges and Professionals and to have been instructing for a minimum of 5 years to even achieve this.
Rachel owns 4 dogs, 3 border collies and a crossbreed. All dogs compete at present and Rachel has attended with her dogs numerous National Championships, European Championship and Crufts. Rachel's 6 year old daughter and her dog have also qualified for Crufts in 2012 and been nominated for the prestigious Shaun McAlpine Outstanding Achievement Award for her and the clubs hard work in the community promiting the Safe & Sound Scheme. This year at the 2011 National Championships Rachel's dog attained 1st, 2nd, 3rd and a 4th in their respective divisions. Rachel is also a home checker for 2 animal charities and offers demonstrations at different events across the country. Rachel is also instructing at the 2012 Young Kennel Club Activity Weekend in Birmingham & Newark.
Rachel was an only child her family bred and raced whippets. Rachel's first dog of her own at the age of 5 was a bassett hound, this taught her a lot, mostly patience and a sense of humour, progressing then to an old english sheepdog, whippet, crossbreeds and collies. From a very early age Rachel would spend her school holidays looking after, walking and training the neighbours dogs, she'd often be seen with numerous dogs of different shapes and sizes walking for miles. Her back garden would be full of self made agility equipment, with brooms on top of dustbins and a ladder as a long jump. Thankfully Rachel began working at the age of 13 and could afford some real equipment much to the relief of the dogs!!
Although Rachel competes with her 4 dogs they are firmly part of the family. In fact it's fair to say she loves her oldest dog Storm more than her husband!!

Kathryn Davies and her dog Wilson have come a long way since he was rescued from North Wales. Kath is very patient and encouraging and Wilson provides many demonstrations within the club. Kath has been training dogs with Help My Pup for some years now and always gets excellent feedback from clients.
Pam Gallagher and her JRT Ozzi have a fun role in the club. They organise our events schedule and PR, we attend many clubs, schools and venues offering fun demonstrations with our specially trained dogs. If your group is interested in this please contact us.
The Help My Pup Demo Team is kindly sponsored by Forster Dean Solicitors (see details on their sponsor page).
